City Council set to vote on raffle approvals and resolutions

The Charleston City Council will vote on a list of ordinances and resolutions at Tuesday’s meeting; street material maintenance and water main materials are among the many items.

The council will also vote on a bid award for a Type III ambulance. A Type III ambulance has a square compartment for patients with the front car of the ambulance is the cut off of a van.

Bid awards are the project owner’s notice of acceptance to the contractor who has submitted the bid.

The council will also waive the layover period and approve the authorizing execution of final loan closing documents with the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency. The IEPA is an agency that focuses on the protection of natural resources from pollution in Illinois.

The Charleston Firefighters Local 3200, Miss Coles County Fair Queen Pageant and the Charleston Area Chamber of Commerce are on the approval list for raffle licenses. The Charleston Firefighters Local 3200’s raffle license will raise funds for Union Operations. The Miss Coles County Fair Queen Pageant’s raffle license will raise funds for pageant expenses. The Charleston Area Chamber of Commerce’s raffle license will raise money for Supplement General operating Funds.

Mayor Combs will appoint Heather Hutti and Laura Smallhorn to 3-year terms on the Tourism Advisory Board.
