Tuesday deadline for credit, no credit request

Staff Report

Students must make the official request to change a classes grade from a letter grade to a credit/ no credit option by Tuesday.

Eastern made the decision to allow the grade change, as they did in the Spring 2020 following the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, to help students who may be struggling with the difference in class structure.

The option helps those who may have concerns about their grade point average by allowing them an option that will not heavily impact their GPA as a letter grade might.

Credit/ no credit courses do not have a percentage or letter grade recorded but instead give students credit for receiving what would have typically been a C or no credit if they earn less than a C equivalency.

Students interested in switching their grade should speak to their academic advisor first to discuss their options.
