Today is Jan. 31, 2020. Here are the five things happening on campus you need to know today.

1. On-campus enrollment down again at Eastern

Eastern’s on-campus head count, the number of students taking classes on campus in Charleston, is down again for  Spring 2020. Eastern’s current on campus head count is 4,475 students, down from 4,621 students in Spring 2019. Eastern total enrollment, which includes high school dual-credit students and other off-campus enrollees, is up again to 7,621 students. 2. DAC panel discusses disappointment in administration, lack of support for minorities

A Diversity Action Council panel expressed its disappointment in Eastern’s lack of support for minority students during controversies during a panel in McAfee Gym Thursday night. 3. Murray State top men’s basketball team in final seconds

Eastern’s men’s basketball team fell to undefeated Murray State 73-70 on the road Thursday night, missing it final shot attempt of the game as time expired. The Panthers had an opportunity to send the game into overtime but ultimately came up just short against the OVC’s top team. 4. Women’s basketball team loses in overtime

Eastern’s women’s basketball team dropped an overtime loss to Murray State 92-87 on the road Thursday night. The Racers were able to erase a 10-point Eastern fourth quarter lead and force overtime, eventually topping the Panthers in the extra quarter.
