Özlem H. Ersin, the associate dean of the College of Health and Behavioral Studies at James Madison University in Virginia, was the third person to be interviewed for the dean of the College of Health and Human Services Friday morning in Booth Library. She discussed holistic admissions methods and how students for the college should show emotional intelligence and learning agility. She also discussed faculty retention and development with the faculty members present at the interview. “Through that experience, I’ve also learned that having a difficult conversation should not be the first conversation you have with someone. A core has to be built, trust has to be built, vulnerability has to be in place.” She said about a line of communication with faculty members during the interview.
