One arrest was made when police responded to a call about reported gunshots Saturday morning, according to a Charleston Police Department press release Monday.

Charleston Police responded to the 1500 block of First Street where gunshots were reportedly fired.

Police arrested Aaron Haskins, 22, of Oak Forrest, Ill., for aggravated battery on a police officer.

Responding officers found no evidence that shots were fired at the party location.

Officers arrived at the scene met by members of the Kappa Alpha Psi and Omega Psi Phi fraternities.

Police estimated between 400 and 500 people were at the location when they arrived on scene.

Several fights had broken out involving 10 to 15 people, most of which ended before police arrived on scene.
