Presentation to show resources for businesses

The School of Business and the Business Solutions Center will cosponsor a “going global” presentation in conjunction with Global Entrepreneurship Wednesday.

Speaking at the event will be Bill Lada, from World Trade Illinois, which is a non-profit organization based in Schaumburg with 10 offices throughout the state. The WTI website said it helps build resources and networks for its members.

“Our unparalleled global alliances and comprehensive trade resources and services are available to support your efforts to enter or expand global market opportunities,” according to the WTI website.

Jeanne Dau, of the Business Solutions Center, said going global with local businesses can keep businesses competitive and the communities in which they reside thriving.

“It’s really important for the university to have a healthy community,” Dau said.

Dau added staying local, while still being able to take advantage of global business opportunities, is vital for continued growth. Resources, such as those provided by the Business Solutions Center and World Trade Illinois, can offer businesses the tools to be successful and connected in a growing global market, Dau said.

Dau said the main goal of the presentation is to let students know there is help and resources are available.

Lada’s presentation will focus primarily on the resources and networks available to help a business in becoming global.

As part of the activities of Global Entrepreneurship week, Dau said she hopes this presentation will aid in the quest to do more on university campuses.

Creating new opportunities is the underlying goal, according to the official website for the Global Entrepreneurship week.

The presentation will take place at 5:30 p.m. in the Lumpkin Hall Auditorium.
