One person’s junk is another’s treasure

The University Board will sponsor the Bizarre Bazaar with a student flea market, live bands and dirty bingo Friday from noon to 7:30 p.m.

The flea market will be from noon to 5 p.m., Monica Steward, the University Board special event coordinator, said Tuesday.

Students can get rid of old compact discs, furniture, videos, showcase arts and crafts, or other items, a press release stated.

“This is the time students can turn their junk into treasures for cash, before they leave Charleston,” Steward said.

No food, beverages or alcohol will be offered by those selling their treasures, but food vendors have been hired, she said.

“There will be food and drink vendors at the Bizarre Bazaar,” she said. “There is suppose to be a non-alcoholic margarita booth also.”

Eastern students interested in participating in the Bizarre Bazaar, flea market can call the Student Life Office at 581-3829, or sign up in the Student Life Office, Martin Luther King Jr. University Union Room 316. Sellers bring their own table or blanket.

The event will be relocated to 7th Street Underground in case of rain.
