In honor of the centennial of the National Parks Service, Fox Ridge State Park will be celebrating the occasion with an outdoor story time event at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at the Brick Pavilion at the park.

Children will learn about the history of America’s parks before exploring Fox Ridge through a scavenger hunt, according to a press release.

The event will conclude with a reading of Fourth of July-themed storybooks.

Summer park intern Helen Plevka said some of the book titles under consideration are Apple Pie Fourth of July, Otto Runs for President and Hurray for the Fourth of July.
