As graduation nears the horizon, let’s take a look at graduation statistics and facts from the 2014-2015 school year all the way to the 2023-2024 school year.
Women made up the majority of all college graduates at around 61% while men at 39%.
Interdisciplinary/general studies, psychology, family consumer sciences/human services, elementary education and communication studies made up the top five majors for women.
Kinesiology, interdisciplinary/general studies, communication studies, management and finance made up the top five majors for men.
The most studied major was interdisciplinary studies and general studies with a total of 1,023 graduates. The general studies major transitioned in the university’s documentation in the 2022-2023 academic year. The highest number of students in a year from that major was in 194 in the 2014-2015 academic year.
The steepest gender ratio for a major was early childhood education with a one to 72 male to female rate. This wasn’t the only woman-dominated major either. Special education and elementary education had a one to eight and one to 10, respectively.
Men only had one major they were primarily ahead in which was finance with a three to one ratio. The majors that broke even included athletic training and music/bachelor of music in music.
