
The male Panther of the Week is going to Chris Worcester from the baseball team.
The senior infielder from Bloomingdale recorded eight hits and four runs in a span of four games throughout the week.
Eastern’s baseball team recorded a 13-3 win over Saint Xavier on Tuesday, and the Panthers swept the top seed in the Ohio Valley Conference, the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles on Thursday and Friday.
Worcester recorded three hits against Saint Xavier and three hits in the second game of the doubleheader against Tennessee Tech on Thursday. Worcester recorded two more hits in Friday’s game against the Golden Eagles.
Worcester also recorded four runs: two against Saint Xavier, one in the second game of the doubleheader against the Golden Eagles and one in Friday’s 6-1 win over the Golden Eagles.
The female Panther of the Week is going to Mya Mirocha from the golf team.
The sophomore from Kewanee recorded the best performance by an Eastern women’s golfer since 2009 at the OVC Championship.
Mirocha finished in seventh place, with a card total of 232 in the 54-hole tournament.
This 54-hole score by Mirocha is the second best total by and Eastern golfer in the OVC, second only to Carrie Riordan (230) in 2009.
