Eastern to host open-sessions for employee, labor relations director next week

Eastern will host two open sessions to fill the empty director of employee and labor relations position next week after former Director Amie Calvert stepped away last month.

Both interviews will take place in the Witters Conference Room in Booth Library from 10-10:45 a.m.

The first candidate, Mark Manley, will be interviewed on Tuesday, July 19.

Manley graduated from Anderson University in 1984 with a bachelor’s degree in voice performance.

After achieving his bachelor’s, he attended Wichita State University to gain his master’s degree in voice and opera theater.

In 2015, he gained his master’s in educational leadership from the American College of Education in Indianapolis, Indiana and his superintendent licensure from Kent State University.

Manley has worked in public school districts for more than a decade.

From 2012-2015 he worked as an administrative specialist at Xenia City School District in Dayton, Ohio.

From 2016-2018 he served as an assistant superintendent for the Mansfield City School District.

From 2018-2020 he served as the assistant superintendent at Stow-Munroe Falls City School District.

Currently, he still fulfills positions in two school districts: director of arts for Hamilton City school and the director of arts for the Mansfield City School District.

The second candidate, Bob Trujillo, will be interviewed on Wednesday, July 20.

Trujillo graduated from Illinois State University in 1993 with a bachelor’s in criminal justice sciences.

Then in 1999, he received his paralegal studies certificate from the University of Hartford in West Hartford, Connecticut.

He went on to achieve his doctorate in law from New York Law School in 2004.

Trujillo has worked in several administrative and management positions.

He worked as an investigator for the U.S. Department of Labor for four years in New York and Chicago.

From 2010 to present, he worked as the principal for R Trujillo Associates LLC in Chicago.

From 2017-2018 he worked at Access Community Health Network in human resources benefits management in Chicago.

From 2018-2021 he worked as a trust fund administrator for UTU-MTA Trust Fund in Irwindale, California.

He currently serves as the executive director for the Midwest Employee Benefit Funds Coalition, Inc. in Countryside.
