In addition to the Eastern football team’s return to the field this weekend, five more Eastern teams will compete over the next few days.

The men’s and women’s cross country teams will be back in action Friday in Peoria when they run in the Bradley “Pink” Classic.

It will be the fourth meet of the season for both teams. The men’s team is currently ranked sixth in the Midwest regional poll.

After their most recent meet Oct. 2, men’s runner Dustin Hatfield being named OVC Male Runner of the Week and women’s runner Lindsey Carlson being named OVC Female Runner of the Week.

Carlson has been named Runner of the Week three times already this season and Hatfield has received the honor twice.

The volleyball team will also be playing this weekend, with conference road matches both Friday and Saturday against Belmont.

It will be the first road trip for the Panthers since Oct. 1 and Oct. 2. They have played their last three matches at home.

Belmont is 4-4 in conference play this season while Eastern is 0-7.

Friday’s match will be the first between the Bruins and Panthers since Oct. 5, 2019.

Also continuing conference play this weekend is the men’s soccer team.

Following a nonconference loss to Louisville, the Panthers will be on the road against Kansas City Saturday at 7 p.m.

The Panthers are 1-2 in conference play while Kansas City is 0-1-1. These teams played twice last season, with Kansas City winning the first match 3-1 and the second match ending in a 2-2 tie.

The women’s soccer team is also in action, but unlike the men’s team will play at home.

The Panthers will host Belmont Sunday at 1 p.m. at Lakeside Field.

Eastern is 1-2-1 in conference play and the Bruins are 3-1.
