CAA meeting scheduled for Thursday afternoon

Staff Report

The Council on Academic Affairs will vote on three items during its meeting tomorrow.

One item will revise the Geology major and minor program by removing in the course Geology National Parks.

The course has not been taught since 2014 and there is no plan to teach it in the future, therefore they plan to remove it from the catalog and subsequently the required courses.

The council will also vote on revising the Bachelor of Arts in Music degree program for clarity. According to the rationale, “during the 2019-2020 academic year the class piano sequence was revised for several concentrations in the (music) programs. Unfortunately, these changes created a lack of clarity regarding the class piano requirement for the BA in Music degree.”

A new course called Honors Body, Health and Society, will also be voted on.
