CAA set to meet Thursday

Staff Report

The Council on Academic Affairs will vote on eliminating the general studies option in childcare education during its virtual meeting Thursday at 2 p.m. on Blackboard Collaborate.

The option is currently offered for general studies students, and the required courses are housed in the Department of Human Services and Community Involvement.

The rationale for the elimination is a new minor.

A new course will also be voted on by the council.

The course would be called “Precalculus and Trigonometry” and worth four credits for enrolled students.

The course would be a “preparatory course for calculus that combines previous study of algebra and functions with trigonometric and analytic geometry concepts.”

The council will also vote on revising the course “Intermediate Algebra.”

During the meeting, the council will discuss hybrid delivery formats.

The council will add two public health courses to the agenda for its next meeting: PUBH 2500 and PUBH 4775.
