Today is Feb. 27, 2020. Here are the five things happening on campus you need to know today.

1. Student Senate hears physical-to-digital textbook proposal

Eastern’s Student Senate heard a proposal at its meeting Wednesday that would raise the student textbook rental fee from $9.75 per credit hour to $18.43 per credit hour. The proposal is made in an effort to help Eastern transition from physical to digital textbooks. 2. CAA to vote on Open Meetings Act bylaw change

After tabling a proposed bylaw change that would excuse the Council on Academic Affairs from the Illinois Open Meetings Act, the CAA has decided it will vote on the bylaw change at its Thursday meeting. 3. Tournament berth on the line

Eastern’s men’s basketball team can clinch an OVC tournament berth if it wins against Southeast Missouri Thursday night on the road. The Panthers (7-9) are favored against the 3-13 Redhawks. 4. Panthers travel to face tough Redhawks team

Eastern’s women’s basketball team (11-5 OVC) will face a tough test on the road against Southeast Missouri (13-3 OVC) Thursday night. 5. Assistant dean gives lecture on visas, green cards
