Today is February 24 2020. Here are the five things happening on Eastern’s campus you need to know today.

1. Final VPBA candidate visits campus

Ed Ashley, the final candidate for Eastern’s open vice president of business affairs position, visited campus Thursday. 2. Men’s basketball team grabs upset win, again

For the second game in a row the Eastern men’s basketball team knocked off the OVC’s top team, this time beating Austin Peay 83-80 in Lantz Arena. 3. Panthers win again, move to 11-5 on season

4. New freshman mentoring program created

A pilot program called “Freshman Connection” has been created at Eastern. The program will pair mentors up with freshman based on mutual interests, the mentors will then help freshman adapt to life in college. 5. 2020 Panther Service Awards announced

The eight Panther Service Awards to be given away in 2020 were announced this week by the Office of Civic Engagement and Volunteerism. Four of the awards are individual awards, four are group awards.
