1. Director of housing and dining discusses sophomore in Stevenson Hall

Eastern’s director of housing and dining Mark Hudson spoke Tuesday about a proposal that would allow sophomores to live in Stevenson Hall. Stevenson Hall has been historically open to just juniors and seniors. Full story:

2. City Council abates $6.1 million tax

The Charleston City Council voted Tuesday night to abate a $6.1 million tax levied to pay debt service on general obligation refunding bonds. Full story:

3. Speaker of Senate nominations to be held

The Eastern Student Senate will nominate a new speaker at its meeting Wednesday night at 7 p.m. in the Arcola/Tuscola room of the Martin Luther King Jr. University Union. Senior math major Seth Yeakel is the only person running for the position. Full story:

4. ‘Making an Activist’ coming to Coleman Hall

Congressional candidate Erika Weaver will be the keynote speaker at the NAACP’s “Making an Activist” event Wednesday night at 6 p.m. in Coleman Hall. Full story:
