Editorial: Welcome back, Panther alumni

Welcome back home, Eastern alumni.

On behalf of The Daily Eastern News we, the editorial board, welcome you back to Charleston for this homecoming weekend and thank you for returning for the festivities.

We at The Daily Eastern News truly believe that once you are a Panther, you are a Panther for life. While the current student body may be the ones currently occupying the dorm rooms and attending the classes, we want the alumni to know, this is still just as much your home as it is ours.

We hope that all of our alumni find a welcoming atmosphere during homecoming this year and feel at home during their returns to Eastern’s charming campus.

Welcoming back the alumni who paved the way and set the traditions and standards for the current students is what homecoming weekend is all about, and we hope for those returning that that feeling is portrayed to you during your stay.

Our hope is to see all of our alumni out and enjoying all of the homecoming festivities this weekend, and we hope to participate in them side-by-side with you, representing Panther classes spanning many decades.

We at The Daily Eastern News would also like to personally thank our strong base of alumni readers for their support of what we do. Know that we will always continue to provide our alumni the most in-depth possible coverage of what happens at Eastern so that no matter where a Panther is in the world, they can always be connected to Eastern.

In this addition of The Daily Eastern News you’ll find our special homecoming insert “On the Verge,” which details and highlights everything you need to know about this homecoming weekend, including extensive coverage of the homecoming football game.

For those alumni who maybe have not been reading The Daily Eastern News, you can always find us at www.dailyeasternnews.com and on Twitter and Facebook where we will provide you with all of the up-to-date information of Charleston and Eastern.

Our mission is not only to keep our current students and community members informed but also to keep our alumni informed.

Providing the news to our alumni plays a big factor into all of our decision making, and we once again want to thank you for your support.

With our deepest sincerities, from The Daily Eastern News to you:

Welcome back home, Panthers.
