College years are when people have the majority of their life experiences. Sometimes, these experiences are not all that good.
In this world, drugs and alcohol tend to escalate for some people in a way that they cannot control themselves.
As a student, it is likely that you will be around drugs and alcohol at one time or another, but it is important to realize that not all of us are able to control ourselves when we ingest and use such substances.
We at The Daily Eastern News strongly oppose the abuse of drugs, and we strongly agree that while alcohol does not affect everyone the same way, it can hurt some people and cause them to go down a bad road.
We believe that you should experience things in life and be able to make your own decisions, but we have also seen many people throughout the years who let alcohol and drugs ruin their education and life.
We know that it is normal for students to have the “party” experience and have fun, but we want students to be aware of the fact that you can sometimes go too far with partying.
If you feel that you have a problem with an addiction to drugs and/or alcohol, we strongly encourage you to seek help.
It can be hard to accept that you have a problem, and at times you may not even realize that you do have a problem.
However, we would hope that if you feel as though your life is becoming unmanageable and it is affecting your life and your experience at Eastern, we encourage you to seek help.
There are counselors on campus who can assist you with what you are dealing with, and can offer the right advice on how to avoid further problems.
It is important to take care of yourself and be careful about how often you participate in the partying lifestyle because it could cause you to get to the point of no return.
We encourage all students to have fun and take in the college experience, and we have nothing against students enjoying themselves, but we just ask that you be careful with how you party and that you seek help from others if you feel you have a problem.
Do not be afraid to ask for help. You are risking your life and your education at Eastern when you are in a toxic situation, so it will not hurt to better yourself.
Have fun, be safe and think hard about certain decisions. Every decision you make could affect your life in one way or another.
