The Miss Black and Gold Scholarship Competition kicks off at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

The competition, which is hosted by the Zeta Nu Chapter of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc., will be in the Grand Ballroom of the Martin Luther King Jr. University Union. 

Six contestants will be competing and whoever wins recieves the $500 scholarship and a chance to compete in a national competition.

Doors open at 7 p.m. and admission is $10.
