Finding the right accessories for a relaxed fall outfit

Analicia Haynes, Editor-in-Chief

Fashion is an enigma.

It’s a cryptic puzzle that takes years of being comfortable with yourself to finally be able to crack. But once you figure out what works for and what you feel (and look) good in then the world seems so simple.

Upon realizing what works for you in regards to fashion, the next thing you can focus on is how to add accessories to truly make your style uniquely yours.

Of course, if you are on the move and your go to accessory is a coffee mug and raggedy bag  holding every book you need for English then you already know that finding an accessory probably isn’t a priority because it might take too long to find something that works.

But that doesn’t have to be the case, there are plenty of go to accessories that will work for your go to attire of leggings, slippers and a big, comfy sweater.

Accessories is a very broad term and encompasses more than just some jewelry and a scarf. An accessory is defined as a thing that can be added to something else in order to make it more useful, versatile or attractive.

Pretty broad statement, right?

That’s a good thing though because that means an accessory can be anything from your favorite coffee mug or your favorite pair of glasses.

If you want to spruce up your outfit, even if you’re wearing a pair of yoga pants and a sweater then there are a few accessories to keep in mind.

For starters, try throwing on a hat whether it’s a beanie or a beret (if you want to be extra about things, that is). Baseball hats would look great too with a more re laxed outfit plus, hats will hide any bad hair day.

If you did brush your hair then you could always think about wearing a scarf with a wild pattern. Wearing clashing patterns definitely makes you stand out and if you do it right, people will want to copy your style.

Also, trade out your old bag with a newer one. You don’t have to go to the mall to get a new bag you could just go to the thrift store and find a big cloth bag that you can decorate with flowers or leaves anything that relates to the fall.

Of course, I am a huge advocate for smaller accessories like a great pair of glasses (if you wear glasses) or even head bands because even the smaller things bring your outfit together.

Even wearing a funky pair of socks with your slip on shoes will act as an accessory to build your relaxed fall outfit.

Ultimately, whether you want an accessory or not, the choice is yours. But, there’s no harm in trying new things.
