IHSA Boy’s Track and Field state semifinals and finals to be held at O’Brien Field this weekend

The Illinois High School Association is holding the boy’s semifinal and final state track and field meet Thursday-Saturday at O’Brien Field.

The boy’s track and field state semifinals will be held on Thursday and Friday, then the state finals will be held on Saturday.

On Thursday, Class 1A field events will begin at 10 a.m. and end at 1:10 p.m. track events will begin at 10:50 a.m. and end at 2:53 p.m.

On Friday, Class 2A field events begin at 8 a.m. and will finish at 10:55 a.m. Class 2A track events will begin at 9 a.m. and finish at 12:26 p.m.

Class 3A events are also being held Friday, and field events will begin at 12 p.m. and finish at 2:45 p.m.. Track events start at 1 p.m. and will end at 4:18 p.m..

The students in the semifinals who qualify will compete in the state finals Saturday, all events will begin at 10 a.m. and finish at 5 p.m. that evening. The parade of competitors and the opening ceremonies will start at 9:15 a.m. before the track and field events begin.
