Eastern students found themselves in a “winter wonderland” Wednesday afternoon as snow fell for much of the afternoon.

Despite the nearly one inch of snowfall students can expect a significant warm up in the upcoming days.

According to, Weather Underground, Charleston will see temperatures in the upper-50s by the end of the weekend.

With the first day of Spring a month away Eastern and Charleston have seen a mild winter with snow accumulations well below average.

The U.S. Climate Data website said the average annual snowfall for Charleston is 18 inches.
