The University Board will be helping students relax this Friday before the pressure of school sneaks up on them for the semester.

The UB is hosting its “Up All Nite” from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Friday in the Grand Ballroom of the Martin Luther King Jr. University Union.

The event happens at the beginning of every semester.  It is free, and both students and the community are invited to join.

Darius Francis, the UB chair, said the event is a good way to kick off the semester while welcoming the students to the campus.

The theme for the event this semester is “‘70s Rollbounce,” and it will include activities such as a roller rink, creating fake car license plates, caricatures, fake tattoos, a photo booth and food.

All activities aside from bowling will be free to everyone who attends, Francis said.

There also will be a comedy show called ‘Minute to Win it.’

Melanie Kaderabek, the UB co-chair, said the comedy show will have students play games like those shown on the TV show.

“The comedy show gets students involved and pumped,” she said.

Bowling will be 50 cents per game, but the shoe rentals will be free, Francis said.

“There will also be party favors for the guests to take home with them when the event is over,” he said.

Francis said free T-shirts will be available for those who attend the event, but they will be limited.

He said students who plan on going to the roller rink should make sure to bring their own socks.
