Student to start movement

Roberto Hodge, Multicultural Editor

The Black Student Union will be hosting a movement forum in light of the aftermath of the Ferguson, Mo., trial at 6 p.m. Monday in the Coleman Auditorium.

BSU will be discussing the trial of Ferguson, Mo., police officer Darren Wilson, who was not indicted by the Grand Jury for shooting and killing 18-year-old Michael Brown last August.

The group will also be discussing what it means to be black within a white society.

After the trial, protesters in Ferguson have looted, faced tear gas and have burned two police cars as well as 12 businesses.

The trial also sparked nation-wide protests calling for justice.

Wilson formally resigned Saturday without severance pay.

The movement will focus on ways of self-improvement and community/campus, which students and faculty are encouraged to participating in.
