Modern rock band performance at Jac

The Jackson Avenue Coffee shop will offer modern rock music and a relaxing atmosphere Saturday night.

Dan Reible, the owner of Jackson Avenue Coffee shop, said the Unemployed Architects will perform.

“I would basically describe them as young college modern rock music,” Reible said.

He said he was looking for a group that would appeal to the younger crowd and The Unemployed Architects were referred to him by a friend.

“They have a quality sound and understandable lyrics,” Reible said.

The Unemployed Architects has been together for three years and are from Bloomington, said Tyler Sweitzer, member of the group.

“I would describe us as more alternative rock like the Chicago style,” Sweitzer said.

Students should go to the event if they want to hear quality music in a quality setting, Reible said.

The Jackson Avenue Coffee shop offers students a relaxing setting that is all about the music, Reible said.

Sweitzer said this would be the first time the Unemployed Architects have performed in Charleston.

If students want a good live show and something to do on a Saturday night, they should come out to the performance, Sweitzer said.

Reible said he was looking forward to a new artist performing at Jackson, especially a group that is catered toward the younger crowd.

“We are always looking for different styles of music,” Reible said.

Sweitzer said the Unemployed Architects would offer free CDs at the performance.

The Unemployed Architects consists of four members who play guitars, drums and a keyboard.

Sweitzer said the band has performed all over Illinois and is looking forward to performing at a new venue.

Some names of their songs are “Aftermath,” “Feel Fine,” “Matchless” and “Completely Closed.”

If someone is interested in the Unemployed Architects they should go to www.theunemployedarchitects.com, Sweitzer said.

The admission to the concert is free and the Jackson Avenue Coffee shop is at 708 Jackson Avenue.
