Job Fair Thursday can benefit everyone, according to Career Services

All students can benefit from a job fair, said Shirley Stewart, associate vice president for student affairs and director of career services.

A Career Day/Job Fair will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Lantz Gym.

Freshman can meet with recruiters and gather valuable information about their majors and career paths, Stewart said. Sophomores and juniors can make valuable contacts, gain internships and, perhaps, future employment. Seniors and graduate students will establish valuable networking, future interviews and employment, she said.

Students who attend should bring their Panther ID to avoid a charge, a smile and an attitude for success, Stewart said. She said she recommended that students who are looking for an internship or a permanent position should wear interview attire like a suit or dress. Those looking to make contacts or gain a summer position should dress business casual, dress pants and shirt.

Stewart said this is the last fair for non-education majors this semester, and there will not be another until fall semester.

Some of the companies that will be on campus are Six Flags Great America, Ambercrombie & Fitch, Edward Jones, Marine Corps Officer Programs, WCIA-Channel 3 and Caterpillar.

A complete list of companies, information to guide students and a program, which will not be given out at the fair, can be found at the Career Service’s Web site at www.jobsrv.eiu.edu.
